OWN THAT STAGE!

OWN THAT STAGE!

Date: To be communicated

Venue: To be communicated

In a rapidly evolving landscape, it is crucial to reflect on the legacy and impact of artistic development. The theme of this cycle recognizes the value of learning the art of performance and how to evolve as a performing artist.

OwnThatStage! (Steal the Stage) is an initiative spearheaded by Susan Augustt and Hannah Standiford, who met at the maiden edition of OneBeat Ghana sponsored by the U.S. Embassy. It would be a 4-day live music performance workshop in the heart of Accra Ghana, focusing on the vocal delivery, character development, stagecraft and the artistic significance of learning and developing the art of live performance.

Our mission is to create a space for young artists, predominantly women, to build their voice and
confidence through the art of staged performance in music. They will learn diverse techniques and exercises from seasoned professionals on how to create a compelling staged performance and engage their audiences. This will enable them to draw in a number of performance opportunities both within their local area and on a global scale, while establishing long-lasting and viable creative professions as live performers.
